Business and Education Partnership Award Winner
We were honored to be presented with the Business and Education Partnership Award by the Greater Elkhart Chamber for our work with the Horizon Education Alliance. We are so proud of our apprentice program and look forward to seeing how it continues to grow!
Thank you so much to Miranda Cripe for this generous nomination "Hoosier Crane partners with us in providing modern youth apprenticeships to high school youth. They came on board last year and decided to have 4 apprentices. They have mentored and trained these students, holding a "school" two days a week - one day focused on technical skills, the other focused on professional development and life skills, such as financial literacy. They have even made a significant investment in hiring a new full-time employee to oversee and coordinate their youth apprenticeship program.
Hoosier Crane has offered to pay for college for their apprentices, and this year, have decided to add 5 more! We have seen such a difference in the four current apprentices in their confidence, composure, and professionalism. Hoosier Crane is "all in" on providing valuable career training, life coaching, and preparing young people for the world of work/school after high school. They are pouring in to these young people to give them what they need to be successful and we know this will be life changing for many.
We are very proud of our apprentices and so grateful to have an employer partner like Hoosier Crane who sees what a difference this program can make and then follows through on it."
