Workstation Crane
Workstation cranes are a type of bridge crane designed for light to heavy manufacturing and production environments. Workstation cranes have a lifting capacity up to two-tons and runways of any length. Due to their size, free-standing workstation cranes can often be installed below large jib or overhead cranes, creating improved work cells. Ceiling hung workstation cranes are available when needed.
The key difference between workstation and overhead cranes is the scale, with workstation cranes aimed at small-scale improved ergonomics and reducing their reliance on lifting heavy items. Additionally, they can increase workers' productivity, quality, and safety.

Types of Workstation Cranes

Some things to consider when purchasing a workstation crane. First, do you need a free-standing crane or a ceiling mount? Overhead mounts can handle the full range of weights for workstation cranes, and they take up considerably less floor space, so they are often preferred. However, obstructions in the ceiling or the work area, along with weight limitations in the building design, may limit this option. Free-standing cranes provide support and can be mounted on a standard 6" concrete floor.
Second, what size do you need? The runway area is the length of travel of the overhead crane. Runway lengths are fully customizable to your workspace. The bridge span is typically from 8 to 28 feet. Perhaps most importantly, what is the lifting capacity you need? All our cranes can carry repeated loads up to the maximum weight rating minus the hoist's weight. Also, consider any expansions or upgrades you may be planning for in the near or far future.
