Lifting the Economy on Manufacturing Day
Today October 3rd, 2014 is National Manufacturing Day so we thought it would be a good time to recognize all of our customers and vendors in the manufacturing industry.
At Hoosier Crane, we manufacture and supply the overhead cranes, hoists and material handling equipment that manufacturers across the United States use to make their products. Our sales team is continually amazed by the diversity of products that our customer produce. Being located in the Elkhart, IN, the RV Capital of the World we see plenty of recreational vehicles, boats and manufactured homes being built. However, we also service customers who build everything from parts for giant Caterpillar earth movers to precision aerospace parts. One of our sales team members once made the comparison to making site visits to the classic PBS show Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. In this classic children’s show Fred Rogers would take tours different American manufacturing facilities to teach kids how products like crayons are made. Our sales team often gets excited to learn what products a new customer is manufacturing and how we can be a part of making them more efficient or expand their production.
As the economy has recovers, much of the growth has been from our manufacturing sector. This growth lead to the great news that was published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics today, that the U.S. unemployment rate has finally fallen below 6.0%. Hoosier Crane is proud to be one of the employers that contributed to this number as we have added 9 new employees to our team in the last year.
On this Manufacturing Day we just wanted to thank those who help build the manufacturing economy.
