The First Charity of 2018 | Canine Companions for Independence
Our first charity of 2018 is Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). CCI is a non-profit organization that trains service dogs and donates them to people in need. Each service dog costs about $55,000 because of food, professional training, and certifications. Without service dogs, the people who need them would struggle to accomplish daily tasks such as opening doors and picking things up. Things that we might take for granted.
Every April, one of the college interns at Hoosier Crane takes a bike trip through Michigan with his fraternity to raise money and awareness for CCI. The trip lasts nine days and is about 900 miles, with the last stop being CCI headquarters in Chicago to donate the money raised. Last year the donation was about $50,000 and this year we're recruiting the Hoosier Crane team to help! Any amount helps, but here are some examples of what your donation can provide:
- $25 provides food bowls for five dogs
- $50 provides assistance vests for two dogs
- $100 provides a bed for one dog
- $250 provides healthcare for one puppy
If you're interested in donating to this worthy cause, please visit the CCI site the fraternity has setup. Thank you for any donation you can give. The Hoosier Crane team truly appreciates the donations! All donations go directly to the cause, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
