When does my crane need load tested?
Load testing is a common source of confusion for many of our customers for a number of reasons. First they are often unclear or unfamiliar with the OSHA standards specifing requirements for load testing. Second due to reference to consensus ANSI standards in OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.179, Overhead and Gantry Cranes there is some confusion as to whether Load tests SHALL or SHOULD be performed.
