We continue to highlight our outstanding team at Hoosier Crane with our latest employee spotlight. This time we are highlighting John Meade, our Warehouse Coordinator. He gets our orders out the door and keeps our warehouse looking good!

Q: How long have you been working for Hoosier Crane?

I have been with Hoosier Crane for 10 years.

Q: What do you do here at Hoosier Crane?

I work in the warehouse in shipping and receiving. I assist the sales and service staff with parts deliveries and keep needed inventory stocked in our shop.

Q: What is your typical day?

I begin working on shipments first thing in the morning before our service techs arrive to get a head start on the day.  Once the techs arrive, I check their tickets and give them the parts they need to get them out on the road.  The rest of the day involves receiving in our delivery trucks, unloading the trucks, and ensuring deliveries are correct.  I also stock and distribute the incoming parts and package and schedule outgoing orders.  In winter when there's snow, I even plow the parking lot before everyone arrives!

Q: What is your favorite Hoosier Crane memory?

The first thing that comes to mind is the annual golf outing that Hoosier Crane hosts for our customers.  The team gets so hyped up about the event and it's really cool to meet all the customers that attend.  There are so many team building events at Hoosier Crane, it is hard to just pick one.  It is incredible the amount of activities we do because it's more than any company I have ever worked for.  I am thankful for all the effort Tom and Cherie have put in to create bonding opportunities for the team.  All the family camping trips, Christmas parties, tailgating, volunteering, etc, have given me and my family an opportunity to get to know others and their families.

Q: What motivates you?

Seeing the growth of the company over the years.  When I started, there were fewer than 20 employees.  Now the company has grown to four times as many employees and we have multiple branches.  It's great to see everyone pitching in to help the company grow.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?

I think the most enjoyable thing about my job is that I'm in the middle of the action all day. Everybody passes me throughout the day and comes to my department at some point to get what they need. It's nice because even when people don’t need something, they will just stop by to say hi. Most of the time this always leads to a few laughs and is a good way to lighten up the day. It is hard to beat the interaction I get with the Hoosier Crane team.
