Freestanding Jibs

Abell-Howe 360° Freestanding Jib Cranes

These jib cranes are self supporting cranes. The jib rotates on a Timken tapered roll bearing and revolves 360 degrees around the pillar on a pair of steel rollers equipped with self aligning roller bearings.

Foundation mounted jib cranes are stabilized in a concrete foundation. A removable sleeve is available if the crane is to be moved in the future.

Mast Type Jibs

Abell-Howe 360° Mast Type Jib Cranes

These jib cranes are designed to be floor supported with upper support mounted on building trusses, crane runway or from a stool on a building column. While providing 360 degree rotation mast type jibs require no expensive foundations for support.

Abell-Howe Mast Type Jib Cranes are available in two different models:

  • Mast Type

Standard mast type jib cranes are equipped with a structural I-beam boom sized for minimum deflection connected to a wide flange upright mast. The top pivot is fitted with self-aligning bushing. The bottom pivot features a bushing with thrust washer.

  • Drop Boom

This model is similar to J-902FC except an optional column connection which allows the beam to be factory mounted at any point on the column. This option is useful when obstructions such as overhead lights or pipes may interfere with rotation.
